Art Foltz Awarded at 2025 National Convention

The "Save Our Streams Award" is for outstanding work in clean water activism …
The Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Chapter noted that in the ten years as a member, Art Foltz has led the charge for growing the chapter's involvement in monitoring stream health in the Piedmont region of Virginia. Art displays leadership for many other major conservation activities, projects and endeavors of the chapter.

Ralph Kinch Awarded at 2025 National Convention

As treasurer, Ralph Kinch, Jr. helped to establish high-yielding investment options that eventually funded, not just improvements the Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Chapter’s grounds, but enhanced the chapter's status as a viable local conservation organization with the funding for many of the on-the-ground conservation efforts in the greater Spotsylvania area of Virginia.

Terrance Fellinger Awarded Prestigious Judge John W. Tobin Award for 2024

At the April 3, 2025 membership meeting, the Fredericksburg-Rappahannock chapter awarded the prestigious Judge John W. Tobin award as the outstanding Chapter member for 2024. This award is given for a member or members who are devoted to the objectives and ideals of the Izaak Walton League.  Pictured below is Terry Fellinger with Barbara Pritchett, our Chapter Board Secretary and state league representative.

Chapter President Elected to National Office posted July 29, 2023

It has been announced that the president of our chapter, Herbert Pritchett, Sr., has been elected to the vice presidency of the National organization at the annual meeting of the Izaak Walton League of America, held this year in Lincoln, Nebraska.. The election, held on the second day (Friday morning) of the annual conference  was announced earlier today.  Herbert joins other chapter members as the new officers for the ensuing year:

Herbert Pritchett is Elected to the National IWLA National Hall of Fame  (Posted August 6, 2021)

Herbert Pritchett, president of the Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America, Inc. was recently elected as a member of the IWLA Hall of Fame. At the August 5, 2021, membership meeting of the local chapter, Mr. Pritchett was presented with a plaque signifying his election.  Ernie Padgette, the president of the Virginia Division of the IWLA made the formal presentation.  Each year there are only 5 Hall of Fame awardees nation-wide.  An article in the "Outdoor America", which is the Izaak Walton National magazine, and a press release about this prestigious election is forthcoming.  Congratulations, Herbert, the chapter is proud of you and has benefited from your accomplishments.

Shotgun Range Pavilion Dedicated
On Tuesday, June 19, 2018, the range 4 (Shotgun range) pavilion was dedicated to the four members most responsible for the activation of the shotgun sport range. The four were honored with a plaque on the recently constructed pavilion shelter.  The four people pictured below were present for the dedication and, immediately after the dedication ceremony, engaged in the sport of trap shooting.
