Herbert Pritchett is Elected to the National IWLA National Hall of Fame  (Posted August 6, 2021)

Herbert Pritchett, president of the Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America, Inc. was recently elected as a member of the IWLA Hall of Fame. At the August 5, 2021, membership meeting of the local chapter, Mr. Pritchett was presented with a plaque signifying his election.  Ernie Padgette, the president of the Virginia Division of the IWLA made the formal presentation.  Each year there are only 5 Hall of Fame awardees nation-wide.  An article in the "Outdoor America", which is the Izaak Walton National magazine, and a press release about this prestigious election is forthcoming.  Congratulations, Herbert, the chapter is proud of you and has benefited from your accomplishments.

Bryce and Shelby Hanson Honored with the prestigious Judge John Tobin Award for the year 2020

At the June 3, 2021 membership meeting, the Fred-Rapp chapter awarded the apiary management team of Bryce and Shelby Hanson the prestigious Judge John Tobin award as the outstanding Chapter members for 2020. This award is given for a member or members who are devoted to the objectives and ideals of the Izaak Walton League.  Here are the Hansons with Barbara Pritchett, our National Director Liaison and Chapter Board Officer, who read the award citation and made the formal presentation.

Barbara Pritchett, Secretary of the Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America, Inc. was recently elected as a member of the IWLA Hall of Fame. Chapter Wins Two Awards

At the recently concluded National Convention the Fred-Rapp Chapter  was awarded two National level awards. The first award received is the Defenders Award which is awarded to any chapter that meets criteria in 5 out of 6 categories: membership, financial contributions, education, conservation, youth involvement, and communications.  These categrories showcase the depth of the conservation commitment across the Izaak Walton League.   Here Herbert Pritchett, hold our Defenders Award Plaque.

Shotgun Range Pavilion Dedicated
On Tuesday, June 19, 2018, the range 4 (Shotgun range) pavilion was dedicated to the four members most responsible for the activation of the shotgun sport range. The four were honored with a plaque on the recently constructed pavilion shelter.  The four people pictured below were present for the dedication and, immediately after the dedication ceremony, engaged in the sport of trap shooting.

At the November meeting the award citation was read to the assembly and the plaque was dispalyed proudly.

Chapter Again Hosts Fredericksburg Flag Retirement Ceremony
 
The Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America hosted the Fredericksburg Flag Retirement ceremony at the Chapter Grounds on Saturday June 10, 2017. Chapter Supports the 2017 Mott's Run Reservoir Kid's Fishing Derby
Volunteers from the Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Izaak Walton League Chapter provided the food for several hundred entrants and parents at the annual Mott's Run Reservoir Kid's Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 3, 2017.
